Several years ago in Monterey there was an unusually large congregation of California Sea Lions on the beach and rocks near the harbor. With so many in such a small area it was very difficult to single in on one individual. While walking around looking for a different angle I looked below the edge where I was standing and had this one looking up at me. It gave me the perfect opportunity for this portrait that turned out way better than I could have planned.
